If we look into the New Testament we'll find that Jesus talked more about how we handle our money (our stewardship of what God gives to us) than anything else.  While being very conscious of the negative connotations that a discussion of money brings to people who've had a bad experience with church in the past, we have to be very honest about the expectations that Jesus lays out for how we handle our finances.

The Old Testament standard for giving was a tithe, the first 10% of whatever the giver was bringing.  Jesus never dismissed that standard but went even further to show that the heart of the giver supercedes the actual gift.  In a very real sense, Jesus wants our full submission: 100% of all we have.

We take up an offering every weekend that supports the ministry and functions here at Parkside.  General Fund giving supports the cost of ministries, staffing and facility usage.  Kingdom Mission giving, which is a commitment we encourage you to make over and above your general fund giving, supports the cost of local and foreign missions that help people understand and accept a relationship with Jesus.

We utilize an envelope system so that you can clearly mark your giving.  Generic envelopes are available every weekend at the back of the auditorium but we provide numbered envelopes to regular givers each January or throughout the year by request.  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
