Our Vision

The people of Parkside Christian Church are committed to bring glory (honor, respect, and notoriety) to God in all ways.  (John 12:28 /  Ephesians 1:12)

We glorify God by living in a way that honors him and draws favorable attention to him.  We glorify God  by understanding his will and his work, and carrying it out.  We will ensure that everything we plan and do proceeds out of this vision for Parkside. 

Our Mission 

We will bring glory to God in all ways . . .

• By reflecting Jesus in all places. Galatians 2:20 (Letting the reality of Jesus shine out through our lives in our homes, our church, our workplace, our school - wherever we are.)
• By leading others to Jesus by all means. I Corinthians 9:22 (Understanding that we are sent by Christ to lead people into a life saving and life changing relationship with Jesus Christ.)

God's will for us is clear. 

• Be faithful in the Great Commandment – Love God and love people.  (Matthew 22:36-40)
• Be faithful to the Great Commission – Make Disciples. (Matthew 28:19,20) 

It is key that we understand what Jesus meant by making a disciple.  The word disciple literally means student, learner or follower.  A person's expression of faith and submission to baptism is the first step in becoming a disciple.  A convert becomes a mature disciple when he or she is taught and observes everything that Jesus commanded in order to be like him.  Jesus asks each of us to then turn and make disciples of others.  (II Timothy 2:2)
